Preparing for your stay

You will be wearing your own personal attire during your stay at North Valley Hospital. We recommend that you bring wash and wear apparel that is easy to get into and remove. All clothing items should be labeled with the patient's name, using a permanent-marking pen. The following is a suggested list:

  • Pajamas/Nightgowns
  • Cotton socks
  • Robe
  • Slippers
  • Pair of shoes with good support
  • Sweatshirt/sweatpants
  • 7-10 pairs of underwear
  • A favorite pillow
  • Grooming or toiletry articles, including:
    • Hairbrush/comb
    • Shampoo
    • Special soap (if normally used)
    • Razor or electric razor
    • Cleaning tablets and/or dental adhesive for dentures

We suggest that you leave any valuables at home with your family or friends.

Visitors and Guests

For most patients, regular visiting hours are from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Please consult the nursing staff for specific visiting times. Family participation is not only invited, it is encouraged as an important component of treatment. However in some cases, and at a therapist's discretion, some treatments are best performed without visitors.
